Thanks for taking the time to look. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to post cute, beautiful photos of kids nowadays (especially those that haven't been approved by the State); and I'm fighting a constant battle. I never had these kind of problems when I took the photos 15 to 40 years ago; but there are too many people who are trying to take advantage of the hysteria nowadays.

It still amazes me how easy it was to take photos of kids back at that time. Early teen girls swimming at Chiques Creek. Taken with Leica IIIf and 90mm Elmar (I doubt anyone knows what those are).

OMG is it different. There must be so much pressure growing up now; with your every move being controlled by others. I spent hours playing unorganized baseball with other kids in the local park. Younger than mid-teens, my feelings towards kids (boy or girl) are pretty much the same, and I love them for the way they are. Little boys act like little boys, and little girls act like little girls, so my photos portray their beauty THE WAY THEY ARE (i.e.; I don't make them do anything they wouldn't do normally). Older than that, I prefer girls, as you can tell from my photos, but I still think of them as kids - so I'm not going to make some 16 to 20 year old (yes, a 20 year old for me is still a "kid") wear high-heels and pimp-up like a prostitute. I have no respect for the guys who make boys dress-up and act in a way they don't normally. I guess that's because my core being is heterosexual; although I try not to impose my standards on others. It was actually an Agfa microfilm which with their developer would produce excellent greyscale. The only reason I knew about the H&W film is because I lived a few miles from St. Johnsbury, Vermont where the owners / developers had their home base. .

I'm glad you found this picture. It's probably the best one I've taken of this type. It's been on exhibit many times, but has never won a prize. It's a scene that is probably very alien to most people nowadays; I doubt very few boys have gone swimming in a creek like this in modern times.

Yeah I remember one such place that we as kids our parents took us to a river beach every summer and we'd stayed all day long till way after dark and would swim if the weather was very hot. Dad took the fishing pole down to the fishing place, we would have a great big fish dinner about dusk time and could see the water falls that was so beautiful at a distance. Now because it wasn't taken care of and state no longer maintain the park any longer, trees took over, beach no longer there, well it's still there but it's not as nice as it use to be that's for sure because of all the trees. My kids would have loved that place if it was well kept like than that's for sure especially my youngest kid. He loves looking at the photos I have when I was his age because he looks so much like I did when I was 10 or 11, he has a very long mullet hairstyle like I did for a boy and exactly like I was refusing to cut his hair when we would say time for a haircut running to his bedroom yelling and screaming I ain't getting a haircut. Always crawling in my lap wanting me to tell stories when I was a kid. He really brings back the memories when I was growing up. Sure miss the good old days. I hope you enjoyed my story.

As usual, what was once a place for the local kids to go swimming is now off-limits and a money-maker for the "big boys". Chiques comes from the Lenape word for "place of crayfish" (the big boys have probably outlawed those too).

These are rural PA teens. They went swimming in whatever they had on. Judging from what I saw in Italy, white kids would go skinny-dipping, on occasion, until the mid-1970's. Then things got more conservative. I took photos of them the way I found them.

Lo so! Sai che devo traslocare dalla casa di mia sorella a Long Island. E' in foreclosure, e non ci sono piu fondi rimasti. Sto considerando di passare qualche tempo a Gaeta, dove faccevo il servizio militare (americano) durante gli anni 70. Come potrei trovare un'agente li per affitare una casa o apartamento per qualche mesi?
