his is the first version of this movie that I ever saw. Now that I've seen the mini-series from the eighties, it seems a little too funny. Its pretty good though...The first recommendation is Trash. It was done by the same guy that did Billy Elliot. I think his name is Stephen Daldry...The second is an old simple movie called The Treasure of Lost Canyon. Its from a Robert Louis Stevenson story, but takes place in California, instead of just outside Paris. I think its the 1860's. It's got William Powell (The Thin Man) in it. He's older here though. It's just a fun movie to watch. I've only got a video rip I downloaded. So if anyone knows where I can get a good copy, please tell me.

Maybe, I haven't seen that one yet though. I kind of got the feeling they were doing the modern thing, and minimizing the boy's role. sorry I took so long to answer. I flagged the email, but then forgot about it.
