As a Canadian, it feels very unpatriotic to ask you to use fewer maple leaves in your art. I think we can all agree that your subjects would look much better without the distraction of the leaves interfering with your art.

I share your concern. However, I must point out that—with the sole exception of the Canadian maple—other types of leaves are rejected by the young bodies of the boys. This leads to unfortunate consequences: my artist becomes terribly ashamed, snaps his brushes and pencils, and starts smashing stools against the wall and the TV, causing me significant damage. If you don't mind too much, I would ask you to accept the current status quo. If not, I’ll try to look for an alternative—perhaps invite another, less high-strung artist... )
