The statue is in Brussels, behind the Justice Palace. It commemorates a ship wreckage with young aspirant sailors (if I remember it correctly). The boy who posed for the statue was named Jean-Jacques Gaillard and was to become a respected painter, wellknown for his ink drawings of Brussels.
