Originally named the Hanson Tuberculosis Hospital, this facility was later converted to a general hospital (Plymouth County Hospital). The medical center then changed purpose once again to become a rehabilitation and pulmonary care facility and was renamed Cranberry Specialty Hospital in 1982. Due to lack of inpatients it was closed in 1992. In April 2004, a 4-alarm fire erupted in the kitchen area, damaging the rear section of the building, and has since been subject to much vandalism.
