What's wrong with the haircut? Noting wrong with a boy not having a barbershop haircut especially during summer vacation from school. Momma cuts the bangs and sides to keep hair from his eyes and letting the back do it's thing and grow LONGER. Maye momma wanting her little boy have the best hairstyle ever for boys eventually when the back gets longer and before school starts again in the fall, takes him to the barbershop get the perfect clean cut mullet. Maybe the boy wanted his hair cut like this and let the back grow long, than get the perfect mullet haircut once the back got to be the length he wanted before the real mullet haircut

...........or even maybe letting the back grow long enough to get a decent tail cut (rattail). That's the best way to do a tail. Let all the back grow long down his back to the length he wants to get his tail, then let that perfect tail keep getting longer. The long tail is the 2nd best haircut for boys especially if your hair is blond, dirty blond, or strawberry blond.
