To the best of my knowledge this was taken during a family foray to California when my father was working there. This was one of those road-side tourist attractions in Tennessee. We took a bus all the way, very typical for that era.

Nice album with some great pictures, I am glad you shared your sister and your lives work with us. I am very sorry for your loss, she will always be with you. I hope you continue to take pictures and to share with us, maybe even more of her works?

I have more of her works. I've just been so busy trying to clean up the house and sell it (before the bank takes it in foreclosure) I haven't been able to give it my full attention.

Thank you. When you're young you don't realize life has its limits. She knew she was in serious trouble, but was too terrified to look ahead. I, the "kid brother" at 74, realize that even though I'm currently healthy, it'll come to me someday also.

Thank you for your sentiments. Even though I lived and travelled quite often throughout my lifetime, there was always her house in New York for me to come back to as a security blanket. I lived in her house for about a year after she passed, but I had to sell it because of the bank's foreclosure. That was the final separation from my family (none left) which had been supportive throughout my life.

My older cousin, Daphne on her Harley. She was a "biker dude" before I was. She was born and passed away in the same years (1943 and 2021) as my Sister. All 4 of us (Tina, me, Daphne and Janet) grew up together in the Bronx. Daphne moved to Seattle from NY in the early 80's. Both Greeks born in Constantinople (now Istanbul), they both finished High School and some college (unusual for that time). They were uprooted by the wars between the Ataturk Turks and Greeks in the 1920's. They immigrated to the USA as private detectives on a case, then they just stayed. My Dad in 1943 when he was 29 years old. This must have been during basic training, because he came over to Normandy with the US troops on the 2nd day of the D-Day invasion in June 1944. I was born 3 years later. He was a "Seebee".

I was YN3 ("titless wave"), on the flagship for the 6th Fleet - homeported in Gaeta, Italy (during Vietnam). 10 years later, I also did several years Army Reserve with the 401st QM Det in Norristown PA.

Mom and Tina (maybe 1 year old) in front of their apartment building in Parkchester (Bronx) NY. I was born and lived there also 3 years later. Parkchester was built in 1941 you can see from the skyline in the background that the area still wasn't complete.

Sad album. The sister left. The main thing is memory forever!

Try: "mergellina86". There's nothing too much different with the locked albums; except I had an old enemy from Gaeta harassing me.

Thankyou, I have seen your albums before if I remember correctly. Its very enjoyable being taken back in time when innocence was a thing to be cherished.

Please continue to enjoy them - at this point I have no other goal in life.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. She seemed to have lived a full life and was a wonderful person. Your album was a fitting and touching tribute to her. Great images, ducman4988.

Thank you for your sentiments. I keep thinking to myself; did I do everything I could for her during her lifetime?

I think we all feel that way, especially about those we love in our families. My brother is mentally ill and although he is still alive, I wonder how I will cope once he's gone. It's a universal experience, regret. Although we can focus on the good things we had with our loved ones.

More of Sis' photos from when she was taking a photography course at San Fernando Valley State in CA during the 60's. Don't we all wish we were back at that time!

You are welcome. She was the last close member of my family; and now I find myself without direction. Posting all my photos is giving me a little bit of reason to continue on.

My sisters recently went to Nashville. I wish I had gone. They have a pic of them at this very guitar.
