I'm not sure which DVD set you've found, but I got mine from Amazon.de (Amazon Germany). The picture quality is ok (what you see in the screencaps), but the dialogue is in German with no English audio or subtitles, so if you don't speak German you might not be able to follow the storyline. The series was dubbed into English for the USA and UK, but the English dubbed version isn't available on DVD (as far as I know).

I almost forgot to mention - the DVDs are in Region 2 "PAL" format. Most American DVD players are Region 1 "NTSC" format, so you'd need a region free player. Your computer might play Region 2 discs, but most computers will only let you switch region settings for DVDs a limited amount of times (maybe 5 times), so you'll want to make sure you can play Region 2 format discs.
