On more than one occasion I have noticed boys and young teens get very excited at air shows. while everyone was watching the planes, i was watching the boys. I, as a kid remember those quasi-sexual feelings I got as the jets roared by. Yup.

The cut back is temporary at best. And you are correct about selling it to other countries....the plab=ne has far too many advances to be shared with potential advisaries. The F-32 is the alternative for the moment for our allies.

it doesnt matter...i mean remember the falcon or the fulcrum were all sleek and beautiful AND dangerous, no doubt, but compare them with the hornet or the flanker or whatever plane was developed later...they both are harmless compared to them although those are wayy more dangerous and dealing a multiple of their damage.

I believe it is the SNJ-4, an american trainer first developed in the 1930's. After a few modifications, it became quite the fighter during WWII. Thanks for asking.

They are ground based photos taken from a tower at a required turn in the air race portion. My good friend was the photographer and he is also a pilot. I'm not sure about the specifics of his equipment, but he does fancy Canon cameras mostly.

Thanks! The Air Show takes place at Reno's Stead Airfield, just outside of town. These photos are about the air race alone. There are several events over a 2-3 day period; envolving different categories of plane types from these as show and active military planes and of course, past military planes. This years event will be in Sept 2011. I can't wait.

I usually go to Reno in the winter time and ski at the multitude of ski areas around Lake Tahoe. I think I will go a little early and take in the shows. thx.
