Whether they win or lose, they will get tips. Sometimes a plucky loser may get more. Unfortunately, after they collect their money they go to their manager (or father or minder or whatever) and have to give them the lot. They usually end up with only 20baht to get some rice or icecream

You are correct. I am going away for a trip and so will try and contact you later in a couple of weeks. I think most boxing rings have at least one night where the younger lads who are serious about the sport, can participate. (and it is a national sport with privaleges for the winners).Once (in another ring) I was invited to help out and rub the lads with oil to relax their muscles before the bout.
