The wife was originally from Austria and she helped me when I was learning German, though a few words are different. Sadly the couple passed away a few years ago but I am still in touch with their daughter.

I see you didn't 'track' or 'pan' the shot but used a slightly higher shutter speed and stopped down.

Just used auto function, calculated the shutters reaction time and wait for the right moment. And mumbled an arrow prayer...

It is interesting how many modern smartphones offer superb photographic opportunities for those not versed in the technicalities of photography. I think that is a good thing if it nurtures the interest in photography to start with. As a child, I was given an old bellows camera. I loved it.

A good hobby to inherit. I hardly knew my father as my parents divorced when I was very young, but I passed on my passion for photography to my daughter. However, neither of us like having our own photos taken.

Indeed so, and that was even the case with a lot of Henri Cartier-Bresson's finest photographs. Was this also taken on the film camera? It has that look about it.

They still have a certain quality, still not replicated by digital cameras. My old Zeiss 35mm camera has a useful depth of field preview button, which is useful in certain situations. Not come across that feature on non-German cameras.
