It is interesting how many modern smartphones offer superb photographic opportunities for those not versed in the technicalities of photography. I think that is a good thing if it nurtures the interest in photography to start with. As a child, I was given an old bellows camera. I loved it.

A good hobby to inherit. I hardly knew my father as my parents divorced when I was very young, but I passed on my passion for photography to my daughter. However, neither of us like having our own photos taken.

Indeed. I also have a good face for radio. This is useful as I spent more time on radio than TV, though I did briefly work for ITN.

Indeed so, and that was even the case with a lot of Henri Cartier-Bresson's finest photographs. Was this also taken on the film camera? It has that look about it.

They still have a certain quality, still not replicated by digital cameras. My old Zeiss 35mm camera has a useful depth of field preview button, which is useful in certain situations. Not come across that feature on non-German cameras.

Once I knew a girl who was a real tomboy. If she was running and stumbling over something, falling to the ground and hurt her knee, she just shouted "S*it" ( and not silencely ), gets up and keep on running. With the knee still bleeding, indeed!
