Thank you. I processed my own Ektachrome slides 40 years ago; then I coated the best ones with a preservative called Permafilm - which actually did seem to preserve them. Then I kept them (mostly) in areas that were either naturally cool or air-conditioned.

I went back to my 1970 negatives for these latest photos - adorable little boy Carlo (i.e.; Kute Kid Karlo) examining my Leica IIIf at a fisherman's port in Gaeta. Carlo is probably a grandfather now, I no longer have the Leica, I went from a 22 year old youth in the US Navy to a 75 year old, and it's no longer permissible to take "street photos" of children (unless it's for commercial purposes or a minority in Africa).

As you can tell, I think both boys and girls are beautiful. At one time I took more photos of boys (especially the "scugnizzi" in Napoli), and in the 80's that changed around.

That is ok young boys and girls we have found them to be photogenic and we found that on a nude beach they are just more at home nude than on any other place. Besides that, the wife thinks that boys in speedos are so cute.

may we ask where here is? and yes if you are in the U.S. it has because we have to see lifeguards tell parents to put tops on their girls. I even saw a lifeguard escort and 12-year-old girl off the beach as she had no top on and she also had no boobs.

I know, they've made the rules about taking photos of kids very restrictive. This was a normal bathing suit for a preteen girl back in those days, nowadays everybody is looking for an excuse to find something wrong. At least I could say I got one of her photos published in a main stream publication.

His friend was Umberto Scipione (https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umberto_S cipione). They were both kids in the same palazzo (apartment building) as me when I was living there in the early 70's. There's a photo somewhere in here of the two playing together in the foyer of that palazzo. Umberto is now a famour composer. [You're going to start getting the history of Gaeta from me].

First of a series of photos of a young painter at one of the beach houses at Serapo in Gaeta. I'd never printed these for 40 years because there was a lot of spots on the negatives and I didn't want to go through the trouble of retouching them. Then along came negatives scanners and Photoshop and, voila', they were a lot easier to retouch!

You know back in the day growing up in the U.S. that is what I wore to the beach and there was never a problem with boys in speedos but nowadays if you wear them you are labeled a gay, so said for the U.S. as we see boys in speedos all of the times here in the islands.

I also used a Leica IIIf and a Leica M2 at that time, then a Canon F1 and Canon A1 later. The photos posted under "Swimming Hole" were taken with a Leica IIIf. Now I have a Nikon D80 and N80, but I'm not doing much other than trying to survive.

I have heard of Orwochome. I believe there was also a Schwarz-Weiss. I was only able to get a few rolls of that film when I was living in Italy in the 1970's.

They were both younger siblings of Salvatore DeMeo, whom I coached as a USN sailor in basketball in 1970, and then played basketball with on a youth team at the Oratorio Salesiano (@San Francesco) when Salvatore got older. Building "castelli di sabbia" on the beach at Serapo. Taken with a Mamiya C330 and just recently scanned.

Beautiful young woman (alba = Dawn) who used to take the bus to Formia everyday from Gaeta, same time as me, to take the train to L'Universita' - unfortunately she was going to Roma while I was going to Napoli. I thought she was stunningly beautiful, but I never made a move - the story of my life. Anyway, she used to hang around with her little group of young comunisti, so an "Americano" wouldn't have stood much of a chance. I think this is the last time I saw her, and it took me 46 years to "discover" the negative and scan it.

This came out very well; especially considering I didn't bother scanning the negative (6 x 6 cm color) until two years ago when I finally got a large format scanner! All my 35mm color negatives from that era (1974) have faded badly. [With me, you always get some tech talk - esp from an old part-time pro]

I'll look up "Luminar AI", see how it can be acquired. I've been using some of the Photoshop (CS2) auto-correct subroutines, they work a little bit. Then I try to correct further just using my experience.

we have to tell you that most beaches that we have been to are all nude beaches that we have seen in our travels, they seem to be more laid back and easy-going beaches not mush with the looking loos.

I heard he was killed about ten years after I took these photos. In 2014, I contacted his younger brother, Tonino M (his photos are in here also) on FB to find out what happened - never heard back. After taking so many photos of these kids, you tend to adopt them in your mind.

When I was about 10 or 12 I had one that tied on the side like the boy on the left. My mom bought it because I would not outgrow it as fast. Later she bought another for me that laced on the sides for the same reason. I was growing fast then.

After many Photoshop enhancements, I managed to get something good enough to post. Beautiful child, beautiful photo (after enhancements). Her beauty when she was ~ 12 years old will endure forever. I still know the family, but I haven't seen her since then.
