"Hope" and "Change" were key words in the 2008 Obama campaign. Of course, "change" is not a good slogan for a REelection campaign. Beyond that, many progressives were disappointed in the rate of change by 2012. Much of the spontaneous creativity that occurred in 2007-2008 was gone by 2012.

"The Dream" is a reference to Martin Luther King's famous "I have a dream" speech, given at 1963 March on Washington for Civil Rights.

The "Organizing for America" symbol. On the reverse of the shirt (see previous image) the makers associated it with the Democratic party. The two were separate entities, however.
