It is indeed, better known as the "Tomcat" and this plane is from the Jolly Roger Naval Squadron, circa 1975-2005. Tough and durable especially in air to air dogfights. A great training plan for battle bound aviators of its time.

Eventually the F-22 will replace this.

6 years later and they're gone for good and replaced by the updated F-18 and the F-35 JSF.

I suppose they will, too. They are still great training tool for aviators in the Guard and Reserves.
