One of many photos I took in Valletta Malta when I arrived there with the USS Little Rock, the Sixth Fleet flagship. Carmino was a beautiful child. [OMG, I forgot I'm NOT supposed to appreciate beauty!] Malta is halfway between Sicily and the Arabic countries of North Africa; you can see the mixture in his features. I wonder what he looks like now after half a century?

"I forgot I'm NOT supposed to appreciate beauty!" How dare you! (lol) Beauty no longer exists in the eyes of the frustrated and do-gooders! (but don't worry: there are still plenty of sensible people who appreciate beauty!!). And Carmino anyway was a beauty!

Some kids are just naturally photogenic, I love his expression and wish there was more. I like how kids live life as it's meant to be, but as we grow up I feel like we lose that part of us, no mater how much we try to recapture we never can. I'm so glad you are able to capture that moment for him.
