I first met Gene when he was jumping off the docks in the middle of town with his buddy T.J. (or D.J.?); and I took photos of both of them. He took me home, and that's how I got to meet Enid Kay and the whole family. Later that Summer (when I wasn't working as a Start-Up engineer at Atlantic Veneer), I took him down to North Carolina (University) where we met Dean Smith. Oh, SO MANY YEARS AGO. I last saw him at 18 years old when he was with Enid Kay - that photo is also in this album. I last went back to NC in 1986, I saw Enid Kay, didn't see anyone else, and the WHOLE TOWN HAD CHANGED.
