One of the first I took in Europe. I went there in 1969 with the US Navy - we were homeported in Gaeta Italy - that's how I ended up there so many years. I was lucky I didn't get sent to Nam.

I can see why it got published. Its a CORKER of a photo. The little boy on the far left reminds me so very much of the little boys from the movie La Guerre des Boutons. :)

Come to think of it; where is Dubrovnik now anyway? Yugoslavia no longer exists. That was the first port my ship went to from Gaeta after I embarked. [USS Little Rock - flagship homeported in Gaeta IT]

Dubrovnik is now in Croatia , my NUMBER 1 spot for vacations. Lots of GREAT Nudist beaches LOL

No not really if you are on your own. Not that many would actually mind. I have seen a few lone photographers strolling on the pebbly beaches. I have occasionally been one of them :)
