Храм Николая в Хамовниках построен в 1679—1682 гг. в слободе царских ткачей (хамовников). Памятник московской архитектуры XVII века. Среди известных прихожан храма был Лев Толстой, который жил неподалёку и упоминал церковь в своих произведениях.
